I’ve worked for a successful local restaurant chain for close to 20 years and have witnessed several relationships between managers and workers. We currently have our head chef dating a server and a floor manager dating another server. It makes people uncomfortable – there is favoritism: free food, better (and extra) tables, others running food for them when they’re busy, etc. There is also fighting which makes coworkers uncomfortable. Upper management does not step in to separate the couples at other locations. I would like others feedback as how they handle similar situations and what can be done about this problem.
